Immaculate Conception -Holy Day of Obligation
The feast of the Immaculate Conception is December 8th. As this is the second Sunday of Advent and that takes preference over the Feast Day, the observance is moved this year to Monday December 9th.
According to the Archdiocese the obligation is also transferred. This is a new interpretation of the church’s laws. So, the Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception is now always a holy day of obligation.
