Outreach Ministries

"Amen I say to you, whatever you did for the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me." (Matthew 18:20)

Our parishioners give generously of their time, talent and treasure in service of the Weymouth community. Here are some ways that you can get involved in our outreach ministries:

FRIENDS OF FATHER BILL'S PLACE
On the second Sunday of each month, we provide bagged lunches for Fr. Bill’s. Donations will be accepted from 10:30am to 11:45am in the Saint Francis Xavier Church kitchen. Bottled water, potato chips or pretzels, lunch meat and cheese, and packaged cookies are needed. Please contact Stephanie Dwyer at 781-413-4787 with any questions.
WEYMOUTH FOOD PANTRY
We are collecting non-perishable food items for the Weymouth Food Pantry. There are baskets placed at the rear of each church. Here’s a list of their most needed items: Jam and/or jelly, Hearty soups (i.e., Progresso, Chunky), Jarred pasta sauce, Side dishes (seasoned rice, Knorr, Zatarain’s etc.), Cereal, Ground coffee and tea, Condiments (cooking oil, ketchup, mayonnaise etc.), White tuna. Sugar, Fried Onion Rings (French’s/Bell’s).
BAPTISMAL BIBS
Do you have a gift for sewing? If so, would you like to be part of a very important ministry? We are looking for someone who would be able to sew simple Baptismal Bibs which are given to each of the children baptized at our collaborative. If you are interested, please contact the Parish office at 781-337-2171 ext. 2. Thank you!
SOCIETY OF SAINT VINCENT DE PAUL

The St. Vincent de Paul Society consists of several men and women discreetly and quietly ministering to the needy within their parish boundaries in Weymouth as members of our St. Vincent de Paul Society Conferences of Saint Albert the Great and St. Francis Xavier. This worldwide organization operates on a person-to-person level through members of its local conferences, who rely on the generosity of their fellow parishioners for encouragement, prayers, and donations to carry out their work.

If you live within the boundaries of Saint Albert the Great Parish and need assistance you should call 781-337-2171 ext. 11. If you live within the boundaries of St. Francis Xavier Parish and need assistance, you should call 781-337-2171 ext. 12.

Following 11:00am Sunday Mass at Saint Albert the Great, you can support St. Vincent de Paul by purchasing baked goods from our volunteers downstairs. Donation bins are located at Saint Albert the Great behind Fr. Bills and at St. Francis Xavier behind the Collaborative Parish office.

ADVENT GIVING TREE
Each Advent, ornaments for the needy are placed on a Christmas tree in the Church. Parishioners purchase gifts for each person, and these gifts are delivered to Long Island Shelter, Weymouth Youth Services, Friends of the Unborn, and other individuals and families. To participate, simply take an ornament from the tree and return your gift to the Church.
